counseling & wellness center llc

When things happen unexpectedly or we feel stuck, an opportunity presents to learn something new or gain a different perspective. I believe that when this opportunity presents, we can learn how to “bounce” back and re-invent. This is called “Resilience.”

My goal is to provide an environment of safety and trust for exploring issues and learning new skills, centered on your needs and temperament. My approach is integrative using Cognitive Behavior (CBT),  Emotion Focused (EFT), Strength Based & Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. My counseling style is compassionate, encouraging and motivating. With your help, I am dedicated to identifying and working toward your personal counseling goals. I also appreciate and understand the complexities of creating a sense of balance and belonging within a culture of rigid expectations.

With more than 20 years helping people of all ages, better their perspectives and health, my education and experience includes the following: Master level degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University; Bachelor Level degree in Social Sciences from Portland State University; Associate level degree in Early Childhood Education from Chemeketa Community College; In addition, I have experience/training in Child Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, Yoga/Mindfulness and Physical Fitness.

I welcome those who are struggling with deeply personal life changes such as: relationship difficulties; religious conflict/doubt; anxiety/depression; adjustments/life transitions; personal growth; parenting; child/adolescent developmental stages; and grief/loss. I enjoy working with Individuals, couples and families.

Your personal (mental health) wellness is my top priority.  Whether you are looking for help for yourself, your relationship or your family, I will work to help all those involved discover the path to healing or change.

I believe animals play a critical role in the mental health of their guardians.  For this reason, I welcome the participation of your beloved animal during your session.  My only request is that they are not a constant distraction to your process knowing there will be the occasional interruption.
